Medical Underwriting


The easy to use and sophisticated online Medical Underwriting system means that after inputting some basic customer information and answering 11 simple questions (with yes/no answers) a Medical Underwriting Results Page will be generated containing a unique Medical Underwriting Reference Number.

YOU MUST PRINT THE “MEDICAL UNDERWRITING RESULTS PAGE” and supply this when sending the case to us. It is important that you either note or copy your unique Medical Underwriting Reference Number as you will need this to produce the relevant Key Facts Illustration (KFI) for the “Enhanced Protected” or “Enhanced Plus” plans. If you only require the “Protected” plan then you do not need a Medical Underwriting Reference Number. We would still encourage you to complete the Health and Lifestyle questionnaire as relatively minor factors (such as age differences between applicants) can sometimes mean qualification for an “Enhanced Protected” plan.

When logging in to the “KFI Production Portal” you should click on the link “Click here for a Medical Underwriting reference” to be taken to the Health and Lifestyle Questionnaire section.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: I’ve not printed or saved or copied my Medical Underwriting Results Page, what can I do?

Simply re-input the customer information and a new reference number will be generated. If you have already produced a KFI, providing the customers Health and Lifestyle responses have not changed, you do not need to create a new KFI. Simply supply the new Medical Underwriting Results Page with the application taking care to ensure that the new reference number still denotes the correct qualifying plan.

Q2: I’ve forgotten to copy or take a note of the Medical Underwriting Reference Number, what can I do?

As this number outlines what plan your customer(s) could qualify for you will need this to produce a KFI for the “Enhanced Protected” or “Enhanced Plus” plans. You will need to complete the Health and Lifestyle Questionnaire again.

Q3: What plan might my customer qualify for?

We encourage all applications to go through the Health and Lifestyle Questionnaire as what could be seen as a trivial Health or Lifestyle response could mean an increased loan is available to your customer! Check the “Medical Underwriting Reference Number”,( the last number before the capital letter) as this denotes what plan the customer qualifies for…

0, 1 or 2 = “Protected” plan only

3, 4 or 5 = “Enhanced Protected” plan.       

7, 8 or 9 = either “Enhanced Plus” or “Enhanced Protected” dependant on the customer’s requirements. (I.e. if they would like the maximum possible loan you would advise them on the “Enhanced Plus” product. Or if they would like to protect some of the equity then the “Enhanced Protected” might be the most appropriate plan.)
E.g. 134568Y = “Enhanced Plus” or “Enhanced Protected”
