Update - changes to enhanced underwriting process
With immediate effect, GP reports will not need to be submitted for new medically enhanced cases.
Where criteria indicates that a GP report is required, you should instead request a copy of the client’s current prescription in lieu of a GP report. The prescription(s) should be no more than 3 months old.
New cotinine tests for smokers applying for a medically enhanced plan will not be required. This change will apply for the next 3 months, and we will reassess the situation and this position towards the end of this period.
For existing cases where a GP report or cotinine test have been requested/and or are outstanding, these will not be required. A copy of your client's prescription will still suffice in lieu of a GP report, and any requested and/or outstanding cotinine tests will be waived.
